Pet Photography

As a huge pet lover, if you are anything like me then an animal within your home is not just a pet, they are a member of the family!

My studio is prepped and spacious enough to allow for a variety of pet shots from portraits to detailed close-ups, all aiming to capture those little personalities in photos to treasure.

I always remain aware that a studio experience can be overwhelming for animals, so I always ensure they are settled and comfortable before any shoot begins, their comfort is key.

Pet Shoot Session

Pet sessions typically last between 30 minutes to an hour, but as with all of my sessions I do not place any restrictions on timings, so if your pet wants to enjoy a little more time in the photography studio then that is fine. I always encourage pet owners to bring some favourite toys and treats, they almost always help get the perfect photographs!

If you would rather some natural shots of your pet outside of the studio on location then I am happy to cater for this provided a pre-arranged location is agreed in advance. My home village of Kings Cliffe has lots of beautiful scenery nearby, but external travel may also be possible at an additional cost.

Following the shoot I will edit all images by hand to ensure they look their very best, and this is included in the shoot price. Where possible I try to keep as close to a natural look as possible, but if you would prefer something a little more unique then please let me know!

Once all images are finalised I will offer you direct access to all high resolution digital copies via a secure password protected link to avoid delay.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a pet session?

Let’s chat! Head over to my contact page and send me your details so that we get a date booked in the calendar.

You can also gift a pet shoot to friends and family if you would like to.

I don’t feel comfortable with my pet off the lead?

Not a problem at all, your pet will not be the first and I have captured many pets previously who have their lead on for a majority it not all of a session. In most cases I can work some magic to remove the leads in post-production. Just let me know the details when getting in touch and we can plan appropriately.

Where will my pet session take place?

My home studio is based in Kings Cliffe of which I have nice space to capture your pet in a variety of poses. If you would rather the session takes place outside then please let me know when getting in contact and we can discuss location options.

Sessions generally last between 30 minutes to an hour.

Which pets can you photograph?

Most household pets will fit within my studio just fine, even two or three if required depending on the size/breed.

For larger animals I would recommend an outdoor session where space is not limited and perhaps where they may feel a little more comfortable.

Can the family jump in for a few pictures?

Yes of course! I actively encourage it to capture those special relationships we all have with our pets! This is of course all dependant on the studio space and number of people or pets, but I will always try to accommodate as much as possible.

What if my pet wont keep still?

Don’t worry, you are not alone! In fact on most occasions pets are just itching to roam about exploring the new room, for this reason I always start all sessions with some free time to allow your pet to get comfortable and settled.

After that I encourage all owners to bring their pet’s favourite toys and treats, a method which almost always does the job in getting that split second I need to snap away!
